In its first edition in 2018, with over 20 thousand visitors, Museums Outside Museums aroused great public interest with its innovative approach and original concept. The Croatian Natural History Museum and the Zagreb Tourist Board opened the event Museums Outside Museums in 2019. The event took place from May 10 to 17, 2019, at the Ban Jelačić Square.
The participants of the event were the Croatian Natural History Museum, the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, the Museum of Arts and Crafts, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, the Croatian History Museum, the Zagreb Ethnographic Museum, the Museum Documentation Centre and the visiting Radboa Museum from Radoboj. Each of the participating museums presented itself with a carefully designed appropriate exposition, and they also took part in the implementation of numerous workshops and lectures.

The exposition of the Croatian Natural History Museum at the event Museums Outside Museums MIM 2019 was dedicated to the presentation of natural history in the new Museum, as a bright and positive example of the use of EU funds in partnership with the City of Zagreb.
